The article has just been published in the new issue of PapierS n.17 Janvier 2023, a periodical from the AFHEPP association (Association francaise pour l’Histoire et l’ Etude du Papier et des Papeteries)
The paper explores the history of the paper which was used to produce an album of fingernail calligraphy during Qajar Iran. The dry stamps in the corners of the pages made it possible to trace the origin and reconstruct the journey of the machine-made paper. The paper was produced at the Kymmene paper mill in Finland, shipped through Russia to Iran and sold on the market. The article is illustrated by photographs from Kymmene papermill, kindly provided by UPM-Kymmene Corporation.
